Mint changes center on customer

Customer satisfaction is at the top of the list of Mint concerns according to a Dec. 11 memo to Mint staff outlining personnel changes.

In it, Deputy Mint Director Richard Peterson writes, “These changes are designed to make us a more nimble, customer-centered organization.

“The changes (are) designed to make the United States Mint more focused on our customers – both external and internal. From the avid coin collector, to the bullion investor, to the retailer who uses our circulating coins, to our Congressional Gold Medal and commemorative coin honorees, to our leadership at Treasury, to each other as fellow employees, and most fundamentally to the American taxpayers, the Mint needs to rededicate itself to customer service at all levels.

“Calendar year 2013 will be another busy year with continued emphasis on improving our operations through new and existing initiatives.
