Littleton founder dies at 92

Frederick Maynard Sundman, co-founder of Littleton Coin Co., died Oct. 31 at Littleton, N.H., Regional Hospital. He was 92.

Mr. Sundman moved to Littleton in 1945 after serving in the Fifth Army in North Africa and Italy. He founded Littleton Stamp Co. and its successor, Littleton Coin Co., with his wife, Fannie Kasper. She died in 1993.

Today Littleton Coin Company employs a staff of 350.

?Until recently, Dad came to work nearly every day here at Littleton Coin.  He used his trusty 1948 Royal manual typewriter to answer correspondence from friends and collectors around the country,? said David Sundman, son of Mr. Sundman and Littleton Coin Company president.

Two other sons also survive, Frederick W. Sundman and Donald J. Sundman. Mr. Sundman married Dorothy Joslin of Littleton in 1994, and she also survives him.
