IPMS seeks speakers for upcoming event

The International Paper Money Show is seeking speakers for its annual summer gathering, scheduled for June 13-16 in Kansas City, Kan.

Now in its 43rd year, IPMS is the leading educational paper money event of the year. The group is seeking presentations on any fiscal paper or fiscal paper tie-in topic and is always looking for new speakers with new topics.

Previous speakers have included Bill Brandimore, Joseph Boling, Robert Calderman, Steve Carr, Carlson Chambliss, Pierre Frick, and Peter Huntoon, among others. Topics range from collecting small size Federal Reserve notes and New Deal Money to Philippine emergency money of 1941-1945 and detecting fakes and counterfeits.

Talks are scheduled on Friday, June 14, and Saturday, June 15, on the hour. Each speaker is allotted 50 minutes, which includes time for questions. Presenters are encouraged to use Powerpoint for visuals unless prior arrangements are made. Presenters may bring their own laptop or submit a disk or thumb drive in advance of the show.

Applications should include the presenter’s name and contact information, title of the talk, a concise two- or three-sentence newsworthy description of the talk, and any display case needs (up to three) for visual aids.

Send applications by April 1 to peterhuntoon@outlook.com. Additional information about the IPMS show can be found online at www.ipmskansascity.com.
