H.R. Harmer offers ABNC paper June 2-4

401145 $100 ibc SPSHANG.jpgAbout 2,800 lots of specimens, proofs and other paper items formerly held in the American Bank Note Company archives will be auctioned along with other consignments June 2-4 by H.R. Harmer, Inc., and Archives International LLC.

This is the third in a series of auctions of ABNC archival material and related security printing ephemera.

Included are U.S. and world proof and specimen bank notes, stock and bond certificates, vignettes, security printing production materials and ephemera.

The sale holds close to 1,300 lots of specimen, proof, essay and issued bank notes and note production materials from the United States and elsewhere.

Highlights among U.S. pieces include an uncut proof sheet of four notes of the Commercial and Agricultural Bank of Galveston, Texas, dated in the late 1840s; two high-denomination U.S. postal notes dated in the mid-1880s from New Hampshire and Minnesota; and early California Gold Rush-era bills of exchange and related items.

A philatelic-related section includes 160 lots of proof, specimen, issued and essay stamps, checks, post office warrants and postal savings certificates.

The floor sale will take place in Danbury, Conn., with eBay Live service available for real-time Internet bidding.
