On June 3, the United States Mint began accepting orders for bags and rolls of the War in the Pacific National Historical Park quarters. This quarter is the third release of 2019 in the America the Beautiful Quarters® Program.

Minted at the Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco Mints, the quarters are available in two-roll sets, three-roll sets, single 40-coin rolls, and 100-coin bags. There is no household order limit and no mintage limit.

The westernmost of all the National Park Service sites, War in the Pacific National Historical Park was established in 1978 to commemorate the bravery, courage, and sacrifice of those participating in the campaigns of the Pacific Theater of World War II.

Perhaps the most iconic memorial in the park is the Asan Bay Overlook. In addition to sweeping views of the landing beaches, Apra Harbor, and seaside villages, there are bronze sculptures depicting events that took place on Guam. The Memorial Wall of Names lists the military personnel killed, as well as local residents who lost their lives or suffered during the Japanese occupation.

The reverse (tails) design portrays American forces coming ashore at Asan Bay, strengthening the number of troops on the island in the fight for Guam and its eventual liberation. Inscriptions are “WAR IN THE PACIFIC,” “GUAM,” “2019,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”

Earlier this year, the Mint also released the Lowell National Historical Park and American Memorial Park quarters in the America the Beautiful Series.

All of these 2019 ATB quarters can be purchased in bags or rolls from the United States Mint at www.usmint.gov or by calling 800-USA-MINT.
