American Eagle 2020 One Ounce Silver Proof Coin, Congratulations Set

Luck be a lady tonight, or in this case, Lady Liberty. Another new product that the United States Mint is putting out during the first quarter of the new year is the American eagle one-ounce silver proof coin. It is set to go on sale Jan. 9, 2020 at 12 noon EST.

The obverse of this coin features the Classic Lady Liberty design of Adolph A. Weinman’s full-length figure of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left.

The reverse features a heraldic eagle with shield, an olive branch in the right talon and arrows in the left.

Each coin contains one troy ounce of .999 fine silver and bears the “W” mintmark, showing it was struck at the West Point Mint. It comes packaged in a blue velvet, satin-lined presentation case accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

This product is also available for enrollment as part of the American Eagle Silver One Ounce Proof Coin Enrollment program.

At the time of this writing, there is no product or household limit for this item.

Also being released on Jan. 9, 2020 at 12 noon EST is the 2020 Congratulations Set. The Mint states that the set can be given for almost any occasion including wedding, anniversary or retirement. The 2020 Congratulations Set includes the 2020 American Eagle one-ounce silver proof coin bearing the “W” mintmark of the West Point mint.

The packaging includes a presentation folder and outer sleeve with a space inside to write a personal message to the recipient. “Congratulations” is printed on the front of the sleeve and the folder along with “2020 United States Mint Congratulations Set” and “American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coin.”

The coin is encapsulated in the folder so that both the obverse and reverse can be seen. Each set comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. At the time of this writing, the products’ price, mintage limit and household limit are not available.

Both products can be ordered online at catalog.usmint.gov or by calling (800) USA-MINT.
