Exhibit challenge a success

The Midlands Coin Club held its annual banquet March 15 at the Grecian Gardens restaurant in West Columbia, S.C.

A total of 30 members were in attendance, seven of whom participated in the First Annual Midlands Coin Club Exhibit Challenge held in conjunction with the banquet.

First Place in the Senior category went to Will Gragg for his exhibit, “Have You Ever Seen a United States Silver Peso?”
Junior member Emma Whitener won two awards for her exhibit, “Collecting My Family Tree”: First Place in the Junior category and the People’s Choice Award.

Other members participating in the challenge were Bill Malinowski, Scott Hafer, Jimmy Boland, Steve Bowes and Amber Nodine.

Interest in the exhibits was so great that a second annual event is being planned for 2013, according to the club.
