Blind Federation at Baltimore show

Large posters featuring the new 2009 Louis Braille commemorative silver dollar will greet visitors to the Whitman Baltimore Coin and Currency Convention slated for Nov. 20-22.

The National Federation of the Blind will have a booth at the convention where attendees can learn more about the upcoming coin, which will have a mintage of 400,000.

NFB volunteers will introduce the organization to coin collectors with programs including a Braille reading demonstration. Visitors can sign up for updates about the coin and the Braille Readers Are Leaders campaign and to learn more about how they can support the NFB’s mission.

Topping convention highlights will be the Bowers and Merena Auctions sale to be conducted Nov. 18-22.

Kid’s Korner activities commence at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, and again at the same time on Saturday, Nov. 22.

Anthony Swiatek will deliver the Professional Numismatists Guild “Share the Knowledge” talk at noon on Nov. 21.

Show hours are 2-6 p.m. on Thursday, and 10–6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
