If the legislation passes, the coins would be struck and issued in 2014, the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Mother’s Day by Congress.

The coins would be struck as proof and uncirculated.

A surcharge of $10 per coin would be added to the price. Half of the funds raised would go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Osteoporosis Foundation. Both organizations would use the money for research.
