Bests made Ambassadors

The dynamic duo has shared a hobby interest and involvement for three decades. Carrie stepped down in January as president of Florida United Numismatists. Jim carries on as editor of FUN-Topics, FUN?s popular journal.

When the first Numismatic News Numismatic Ambassador Award was created in 1974 to honor hobby volunteers, Jim already had 13 years in the hobby under his belt. His wife Carrie picked up the interest and involvement in 1974. They both became dealers in 1977. They have worked together for the benefit of the numismatic hobby ever since.

Their joint hobby love is silver art bars and U.S. coins. Jim is a past president of the International Association of Silver Art Collectors.

Jim is a past vice president of FUN. He is a board member of the Blue Ridge Numismatic Association, past editor of Women in Numismatics? ?Winning Ways.? He is a past bourse chairman of the Greater Jacksonville Coin Club shows, he has assisted with FUN dealer registration since 1987 and he chaired the 1999 FUN in the Sun convention. He was bourse chairman for the American Numismatic Association?s World?s Fair of Money in 1992 in Orlando and at an ANA National Money Show in Jacksonville.

Carrie is a past treasurer for the Greater Jacksonville Coin Club and the Lakeland Coin Club, show chairperson for the 1996 FUN convention, board member of WIN and assists ANA with dealer registration.
