ANA seeks Portland proposals

American Numismatic Association members are encouraged to share their creativity and research with fellow hobbyists by delivering a Numismatic Theatre presentation at the 2009 National Money Show, set for March 13-15 in Portland, Ore.

Numismatic Theatre consists of short presentations on a wide range of topics. It is a chance for collectors to discuss their ideas, expertise and collections with the numismatic community.

Many presentations focus on topics pertaining to the convention’s host city or state. Presentations from previous conventions include “Women in Power, on Coins & in Art,” “Money in Olde New York,” and “Gold, Silver & the Wizard of Oz.”

Collectors interested in giving a Numismatic Theatre presentation can download a proposal form at www.money.org (select “National Money Show” from the “Featured Links” menu, then select the “Education” tab under “ANA Convention Resources”).

Proposals can be sent by fax to (719) 634-4085 or by mail to the ANA Education Department, 818 N. Cascade Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80903. Proposals must be received by Jan. 23.
Theatre program videos and DVDs from past conventions are available for checkout from ANA’s Dwight N. Manley Numismatic Library. Send an e-mail to library@money.org for more information.
