Heritage Auction Galleries will offer about 2,000 lots in its sale March 6-7 at the American Numismatic Association?s Phoenix, Ariz., National Money Show.
Proof gold is abundant, along with high-condition type coins.
One eye-popping piece is a 1907 High Relief Saint-Gaudens $20 with wire rim graded MS-69 by Professional Coin Grading Service. It comes with Certified Acceptance Corp. verification.
Catalogers described the coin as follows: ?The present coin, formerly offered in the fabulous Phillip H. Morse collection of Saint-Gaudens coinage, reveals strong definition in most of those areas. Only small portions of the Capitol building and the eagle?s wing feathers exhibit minor softness. A pleasing yellow-gold patina bathes each side, both of which have managed to escape any signs of post-striking impairments.?
Heritage?s sale also holds a second 1907 High Relief Saint-Gaudens $20, this one with flat rim, graded PCGS MS-65.
