A previously unknown $10 1861 Demand Note “Payable by the Assistant Treasurer of the U.S. at St. Louis” will highlight a Signature Currency auction slated for Jan. 6-8, 2011, in Tampa, Fla., by Heritage Currency Auctions.
Almost 3,000 lots will be sold in three sessions Jan. 4-9, 2012, in New York City by Stack’s Bowers and Ponterio. The firm is an official auctioneer at the New York International Numismatic Convention.
