By golly, there is a little life in the old American Eagle gold bullion coin market after all. The end of May saw a flurry of sales that pushed the totals quite a bit higher than they had been.
In the great scheme of things, the additional coins sold, probably don?t mean much, but it woke up what had been a snoozy sort of month.
Speaking of snoozy, proof 2007 Buffalo one-ounce gold coins saw sales rise by just 3,900. What a difference a year makes. The 2006 coins sold 100,000 in 10 days.
Call us old-fashioned, but we were gratified to see the plain vanilla five-quarter clad proof set sales up by 8,824 during a week where most other numbers hardly moved. Some even moved backwards, like the four-coin ?W? gold American Eagle set below.
