Old Pueblo Coin of Tucson, Ariz., released a 1-ounce copper token in celebration of the company’s 30th year in business. Rob Weiss, who started the business in 1982, has issued an Arizona Token of Appreciation, good for $2.50 in trade that can be redeemed any time at Old Pueblo Coin. Continue reading

Gold token book out in 3rd edition
Alaska Rare Coins has announced the publication of the 3rd edition of the book, Striking Gold in Alaska, Making tokens from placer gold, by Dick Hanscom. It follows the process from purchasing placer gold, to preparing the gold for striking, to engraving the dies, to striking. ECs fund Japan relief
Michael Mochizuki of Hawaii is heading an elongated coin fund-raiser named “The Aloha Project” to benefit the Hawaii chapter of the American Red Cross for Japanese tsunami relief. The elongated design, rolled on copper cents, features the word “aloha” with the “o” colored red to represent the Japanese flag. Continue reading
