    Maybe, BUT…….why do some RED coppers keep their color while most turn to the muddy brown, as in the Mississippi River mud? I know I have read why somewhere but cant remember (losing my mind, er memory?). Probably the method of storage and what not, exposure to oxygen and other elements. If the RED is sold for a premium now then probably not. Good question though. Cents are my first and still my most favorites of all coins I collect!

    Oh dear me, David! If you’re going to start expecting the numismatic hobby to behave rationally, you’re going to implode the whole thing. The entirety of numismatics relies on strange behavior that would make Lewis Carroll blush. The whole hobby is completely “through the looking glass”.

    The answer to your question is “yes, but don’t expect it to change”.
