I posted this question on both the OMSA and Wehrmacht Awards sites and within hours both sites had responses from helpful collectors informing me that Walter Nettleton's name does not appear on the Spanish War Service medal rolls. That can only mean that for whatever reason Mr. Nettleton did not apply for his medal in 1918. Fred
