Congratulations are due to Dr. Alan M. Stahl for being the 2011 awardee of the medal of the Royal Numismatic Society.
I had the pleasure of working with Stahl during my time at the American Numismatic Society in NYC. He was Curator of Medieval Coins and Medals, and I was the computer Systems Operator. He and I were active in the American Medallic Sculpture Association, New York Numismatic Club and the National Sculpture Society during those years too.
Dr. Stahl is best known for his research on the mint of Venice, and his resulting book, Zecca. He currenty serves as curator of numismatics at Princeton University.
