Come to CICF show in Rosemont

The Chicago International Coin Fair opens next week in the Chicago suburb of Rosemont, Ill., and I will be there.

How about you?

The event hosts a bourse that focuses on coins of the world and a Heritage Auction.

There will be 4,635 lots in the Heritage Signature Sale. Ancients to modern world coins will go under the hammer.

What’s different this year is the dealer bourse and auction will be across the street from the host hotel at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Hall B and D, respectively, off the lobby.

Regular attendees of the last three American Numismatic Association summer conventions will be familiar with the location.

What hasn’t changed is the host hotel.

It is the familiar Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare Hotel and Conference Center. If you are still looking for a room, telephone (847) 671-6350.

The schedule should also be familiar to regular attendees.

On Thursday a professional preview session will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Admission to this is $50. The fee also earns the payer a VIP badge that will then be good for admission to the bourse an hour before the public is admitted Friday through Sunday.

Friday morning starts regular public hours. The show will open at 10 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. Admission costs $5, but this is good for the entire show.

On Saturday the hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sunday hours are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and admission for this day only is free.

I hope to see you there. But do your homework first. Check out the lots in the Heritage auction by visiting www.HA.com.

One note for next year’s CICF show: The dates will be April 6-9, 2017, and the bourse will be back in the ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare Hotel.
