Yellowstone debuts June 3

The second quarter in the America the Beautiful series, which honors Yellowstone National Park, will makes its debut June 3 at a 10:30 a.m. Mountain time ceremony to be held behind the Old Faithful Inn at the park.

Featuring the famous “Old Faithful” geyser, the quarter design will be formally unveiled by Mint Director Ed Moy.

The event can be seen live online in a special webcast at http://www.americathebeautifulquarters.gov.

Children attending the ceremony will get a free quarter and adults will be able to exchange their paper money for 40-coin quarter rolls in an operation run by the park’s concessionaire, Xanterra.

Two-roll sets will also be sold to collectors online for $32.95 at the Mint’s website, www.usmint.gov. Also available will be 100-coin bags for $35.95. Each order requires an additional $4.95 handling charge.
