Wendell Wolka said he would seek a third term as governor of the American Numismatic Association in the election to be conducted by mail in June of 2011. His Dec. 15 statement ended speculation that he would seek the vice presidency.

Wolka said, “Having gotten through nearly four years of litigation and sometimes perilous financial situations, I would now like to lend a hand in helping guide the Association’s efforts to genuinely enhance the value of ANA membership for the common collector; not just those who are fortunate enough to be able to travel to the large national shows and to the Association’s money museum and reference library in Colorado Springs, Colo.”

His focuses in doing this will be on the ANA library and museum.

“We have a wonderful library and museum and need to find ways to make all of our great assets more accessible to each and every member,” he said.

“While gaining new members will remain a priority, retaining and pleasing the members that we already have is also critical to the Association’s long term well being,” he explained.

Now that the ANA has gotten its financial house in order, Wolka pledges to remain fiscally conservative if he is re-elected by the membership.
