Highlighted by a $9.6 million Stack’s auction, the Whitman Coin & Collectibles Philadelphia Expo Sept. 30-Oct. 2 was called a success by Whitman Expo General Manager David Crenshaw.

Chief Mint Engraver John Mercanti attended and told the story of discovering the original Saint-Gaudens coin plasters.

Actors Steven Edenbo and Ian Rose of the American Historical Theatre brought Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton to life. Theydebated with great wit and sagacity their conflicting views on the U.S. Constitution, according to Crenshaw, and even managed to answer probing questions from knowledgeable members of the audience while remaining in character.
