Featuring extensive illustrations and thorough reference work, Renaissance of American Coinage 1916-1921 outlines the origin, design and initial striking of works that began with Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ 1907 pieces.

To tell the story, Burdette displays correspondence, drawings and models by such sculptors as Hermon MacNeil, Adolph Weinman, Albin Polasek and Anthony De Francisci.
