When the U.S. Mint began accepting orders for the two-coin San Francisco American Eagle proof set June 7, issue price was put at $149.95.
Featured in the set is a regular proof one-ounce 2012 silver American Eagle coin and a reverse proof. A reverse proof is a coin where the fields are frosted and the highlights are mirror-like.
Both coins will feature an “S” mintmark.
Orders will be accepted until July 5. There is no limit on the number of coins that will be produced. The Mint plans to strike as many as are ordered.
The Mint charges a $4.95 shipping and handling fee on each order.
