RCNA official speaks at symposium

Paul R. Johnson, executive secretary of the Royal Canadian Numismatic Association, was a speaker at the Ninth Annual Educational Symposium of the California State Numismatic Association, hosted by the Vallejo Numismatic Society, Oct. 25-26.

Johnson’s presentation was titled “Coinage of the Royal Canadian Mint, 1908-2008,” in light of the mint’s centennial this year.

“The Royal Canadian Mint has had a proud century and continues to be an innovator in the minting process, and it is a strong supporter of numismatics in Canada and with the Royal Canadian Numismatic Association,” he said.

Johnson joined four other presenters at the event, themed “Northern Numismatics.”

Information about the 2009 symposium scheduled for Oct. 24 may be obtained by sending an e-mail to emperori@juno.com or by visiting Web site www.Calcoin.org.
