Currency notes from the only complete type set ever assembled of notes printed by the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing for the Philippines are going up for sale.
Bernie Reynolds of Highplains Numismatics will have the notes available for purchase at his table at the Professional Currency Dealers Association’s National Currency and Coin Convention Nov. 8-11 at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare in Rosemont, Ill.
According to Reynolds, rarities included in this collection are the only known example of 1906 500 pesos, Pick 33b; and the highest grade example of two known 100 pesos War Department notes, Pick 87b. Also highlighting the collection are a number of notes of which less than 10 are known.
The collection took more than 35 years to assemble, according to Reynolds.
