Mint Stats: Three ‘S’ quarters, more Eagles on sale

Now there are three 2012 San Francisco Mint uncirculated copper-nickel clad America the Beautiful quarter designs available to collectors, and as might be expected, the highest sales numbers are registered by the first coin to be offered.

So far, collectors have purchased 1,329,980 of the El Yunque “S” quarters in bags or roll quantities. This is followed by 870,360 of the Chaco Culture coins and 413,260 of the Acadia Culture quarters. The tables list the sales figures for these “S” coins according to the 100-coin bag or 40-coin roll.

Yikes. So many new issues came on the market while I was at the ANA that I must ask readers to forgive the haphazard look of certain columns. I put the sales numbers for the 2012-W proof platinum Eagle and the 2012-W uncirculated silver Eagle below the numbers for the 2011 coins. The 2011 platinum proof has gone off sale.
