Collectors have snapped up almost 10,000 each of the $25 roll. That’s a pretty good start for this sales option as it is almost half the sales total for the 2011 coins. Demand for the Chester Arthur coins continues, but has backed off from the large numbers shipped in recent weeks.
One peculiarity to point out is to simply ask the question: why have twice the number of Philadelphia $250 boxes for Arthur coins been purchased compared to the Denver total? As it stands, buyers have taken 10,695 boxes of the “P” coins compared to 5,347 Denver.
Sales of proof commemorative silver dollars proceed at an almost equal rate. Buyers took 1,142 of the Infantry coins and 1,280 of the Star-Spangled Banner pieces.
Proof 2012 gold Eagles continue to move ahead slowly. Sales of half-ounce and quarter-ounce coins remain below 1,000.
Sales of the 4-coin 2011 proof gold Eagle set rose by 42 to 18,119.
