Mint Stats: Anyone on Edge About Sellout?

The one-ounce gold proof American Eagle has been sitting on the doorstep of a sellout since the beginning of September, but finally it looks like it is just a matter of days as there are only 349 coins left.

The Mount Hood 5-ounce silver collector coin is 3,923 coins from its goal line, but I still think it will get there, even if it has taken longer than I originally thought. At this week’s sales rate, it will take another six weeks to finish the job. Sales could speed up if collectors get the idea it is time to act or miss out.

Up-to-date values in up to 11 condition grades!

The 2011 Gettysburg collector version of the 5-ounce silver coin looks much more problematic. The sales rate is slower than for the 2010 coins and the maximum is higher – not a good combination.

Though the big hit was last week, sales numbers fell again this week for the uncirculated 2011-W silver American Eagle coin. The total dropped by 424 to 182,100.

Sales of the proof 2011 platinum Eagle passed the round figure of 10,000.
