Krause Publications Wins Eight 2010 Numismatic Literary Guild Awards

Bob Van RyzinIola, Wis. (August 26, 2010) — Krause Publications was the recipient of eight Numismatic Literary Guild awards covering books and magazines at the group’s recent awards banquet in Boston.

In the Extraordinary Merit category, Fascinating Facts, Mysteries & Myths About U.S. Coins, by Robert R. Van Ryzin (right) was a winner. In the same category, The Standard Catalog of United States Paper Money, 28th Edition, by George S. Cuhaj and William Brandimore was also honored.

On the magazine side, the article “Brenner’s Time-Honored Lincoln,” by Tom LaMarre, originally published in Coins Magazine took home an award. Also “Mercado Libre Search Produces Medals,” by Donald Dool was a winner. That article was originally published in World Coin News.

The monthly newspaper Bank Note Reporter was honored two times in the Best Article Or Series of Articles category, with awards going to the articles “Research Solves Identity Mystery,” by Barbara A. Bither and “Shades of the Blue and Grey,” by Fred L. Reed III.

The January 2010 edition of Bank Note Reporter, edited by Van Ryzin, was honored in the category of Best Issue.
