Patrick Heller is the 2012 recipient of the American Numismatic Association Harry J. Forman Dealer of the Year Award, which was presented Aug. 7 at the World’s Fair of Money Kick-Off event at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. The award is named in honor of the late Philadelphia coin dealer and author.
As a businessman, Heller has grown Liberty Coin Service in Lansing, Mich., from a three-person staff in 1982 to a 22-person staff today. He also helped to secure sales and use tax exemptions for rare coins and precious metals in Michigan and has assisted the Michigan Attorney General’s office with investigations of consumer fraud involving numismatics.
Heller has led the ANA’s Finance, Budget and Audit committee since 2007. He serves as treasurer of the Industry Council for Tangible Assets and belongs to 13 numismatic associations.
He writes about the coin market for Numismatic News, NumisMaster.com and CoinWeek.com – in addition to hosting his own radio show.
