“The Glacier National Park quarter will connect America to the wonder, grandeur and beauty of one of the nation’s most awe-inspiring natural treasures,” said B.B. Craig, U.S. Mint associate director for sales and marketing.

He was joined in the ceremony by Park Superintendent Chas Cartwright, who helped pass out free examples of the new quarter to children in attendance.

After the ceremony adults exchanged folding money for coins at face value and some $16,000 in quarters were dispensed this way.

Two-roll sets of the quarters can be purchased for $39.95 from the U.S. Mint’s website at www.usmint.gov. All orders must include a $4.95 handling charge.
