First auction features steel error

Tangible Investments is entering the public auction business with an inaugural sale to be held May 26 at its Newport Beach, Calif., gallery and online.

Set to start at 10 a.m., the sale will feature a 1944 cent struck on a steel planchet grading AU-50 by ANACS.

Other top lots include an 1808/7 gold half eagle graded MS-61 by the Professional Coin Grading Service.

The sale also will feature a 1799 silver dollar graded PCGS MS-62.

Tangible says it will conduct boutique-style auctions with personalized attention, fast settlements and every lot will have an image as well as a description.
