Elongated quarter honors 9/11

Lee Bowser has made available an elongated coin in remembrance of the events of Sept. 11, 2001.

The design features the U.S.S. New York, a ship that has a section of its bow made of steel from the World Trade Center. The ship was docked in New York during the 10-year remembrance ceremony.

In the background of the design are the ghosted images of the World Trade Center towers with a cloud of smoke at the base.

One Coin is Never EnoughBowser came up with the idea and presented it to his artist friend Paul Conner, who brought it to life. The design is rolled on New York state quarters.

The piece is for sale for $3 each or $5 for two with a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Send payment to Bowser, 13898 Masters Drive, Alexander, AR 72002. Email questions to lbfoto@aristotle.net.
