Last week the Mint sold almost 1 million ounces of silver – 867,500 – as customers ordered 1 ounce bullion coins. Gold had its own fans with 9,000 1 ounce and 3,500 1/2 ounce gold coins sold. Not bad for a week’s worth of sales.

The Medal of Honor commemorative coins join the list this week. Their introduction bit into sales of the U.S. Army commemorative coins. The U.S. Army $5 gold proof sales came in at 1,262 coins, with only 525 of the $5 gold uncirculated sold. The Army $1 silver proof sales were at 8,531, with the uncirculated coin at 5,688.

Andrew Johnson $1 coin rolls also went on sale with the $25 “P” roll sales at 23,211 and the “D” roll sales at 22,523. They will be added to our list next week.
