The club attributes this growth to the adoption of new bylaws and show rules as well as an aggressive membership drive. Its initiative of offering collecting guidance and free appraisals for the general public helped to raise awareness of the hobbies and interest in participation, according to the club.

The club hosts two coin and stamp shows each year. Its next one is set for Sept. 24-25 at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City, S.D. Admission and parking are free. Last September’s show saw attendance reach more than 550 people, the club reports.

It meets monthly on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the General Beadle School in Rapid City. Meetings consist of club business, show-and-tell and member presentations. The group encourages interested collectors to attend. For more information, call Jim at (605) 381-4625.
