Central States sets up 250 dealer tables

More than 250 dealer booths, programs given by leaders in the numismatic community and two Heritage Signature auctions top the list of reasons to attend the 68th anniversary convention of the Central States Numismatic Society May 8-12 in St. Louis. Mo.

CSNSbox.jpgThe bourse floor will be open exclusively to members of the Professional Numismatists Guild and their invited guests on May 9 during PNG Day.

Professional Preview Day will be held May 10 and the convention will open to the public May 11. A bourse map and list of dealers is located on Page 28. An events schedule appears on Page 30.

?In general, I am looking forward to the incredible vitality of the bourse area with highly focused attendees with clear goals and objectives,? said Kevin Foley, convention chairman. ?My objective of the attendance is to focus on having high quality and highly motivated attendance instead of those seeking casual recreation. This makes for a more successful event for the booth holders.?

Seminars and programs include two sessions of ?The Art of Exhibiting? by John Eschbach and Jerry Kochel, ?Ten Reasons Why You?ll Want to Attend the American Numismatic Association?s August 2007 Milwaukee Convention? by Clifford Mishler and ?The Ten Best Ways to Ruin Your Coin Club? by Foley.

?Attending the lectures we?ve arranged presents a wonderful learning opportunity and a chance to interact on a personal basis with individuals who enjoy a real depth of knowledge on the subject areas of their talks,? commented Foley.

Heritage Auction Galleries is the official auction house of the convention and will hold two Signatures sales in conjunction with the event.

?The array of material in each sale is exceptional,? said Foley. ?Indeed, sitting in the lot viewing room one can sense the intensity with which the many auction participants carry on their involvement in these major sales. Auctions are where the real rarities are exchanged.?
