AucBM0523A.jpgCalled ?exceedingly rare? by the cataloger, an 1860 copper Judd-273 pattern double eagle is one of the highlights in Bowers and Merena?s May 26 auction.

The 1,200-lot sale will be held in conjunction with the Anaheim, Calif., Coin & Collectibles Expo. There will be two sessions, beginning at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Pacific time.

The 1860 double eagle has a grade of Proof-65 RB from Professional Coin Grading Service.
