Pobjoy Mint has produced a number of colored titanium coins recently. Their latest issue is a 36.10 mm, 10.00 g, .990 blue titanium £2 depicting, appropriately, blue whales. Mintage is 7,500.

The coin has been struck on behalf of the South Georgia and the Sandwich Islands Government. The islands were a major whaling base from the early 20th century until the 1960s.

The effigy of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse also appears in royal blue. However, titanium reacts differently with every strike and each coin is technically different from all others. A lined effect is also present on coins struck in this metal.

The coin is also available as a 38.60 mm, 28.28 g, .925 fine silver proof £2 and a similarly sized cupronickel BU £2. Mintages are 2,000 and 10,000, respectively.
