Big changes for Mint bullion coin sales

The Saratoga 5-ounce silver bullion coin sold out just one day after its release on Nov. 30. Authorized Purchasers ordered the entire supply of 45,000 coins by Dec. 1.

Another sold out bullion option was the American Eagle gold one-ounce bullion coin, which ended sales Nov. 24 with 626,500 total coins sold in 2015. Of the four gold Eagle bullion coin sizes, only the half-ounce remains available.

Orders for the American Buffalo gold one-ounce bullion coin in November were the highest in 2015 so far. The Mint reports buyers purchased 38,000 coins throughout the month.

December bullion coin sales started with just 183,500 silver Eagles sold by Dec. 2. With the Mint ending 2015 coin production, expect little movement in bullion totals.

The 2014 Franklin D. Roosevelt Coin and Chronicles set is unavailable at the Mint with 19,050 of a 20,000 mintage sold by Nov. 30. Sales of the set had lingered until the release of the popular 2015 Chronicles sets.Screen shot 2015-12-03 at 1.13.21 PM Screen shot 2015-12-03 at 1.13.33 PM Screen shot 2015-12-03 at 1.13.39 PM
