Thirty-five hobbyists and numismatists gathered on Oct. 30 in Omaha, Neb., for Central States Numismatic Society’s and Omaha Coin Club’s co-sponsored Fall Numismatic Educational Seminar.

Chuck Daughtrey kicked off the series of talks with “An Overview of the Lincoln Cent.” In addition to sharing facts, figures and misconceptions, Daughtrey also showed examples of his photographs and artwork.

Jim McKee followed with a presentation of “Nebraska Wildcat Banks and Banknotes.”

Rick Snow gave a talk titled “Counterfeit Indian Cents.” Examples were on display for attendees to examine.

The presentations ended with American Numismatic Association President Cliff Mishler speaking on “The Standard Catalog of World Coins – The Why and How of its Development.”

At the conclusion of the event, Mishler presented Omaha Coin Club President Mitch Ernst with the ANA Presidential Award. Mishler and CSNS Educational Director Ray Lockwood presented the club with a plaque from each organization recognizing OCC’s 75th anniversary.

Each speaker was presented with a commemorative OCC 75th Anniversary / 50th Annual Show set of encased nickels in a handcrafted wood box.
